Now a part of the urban landscape in Rio, street art provides a social commentary on local and world events.The Street artist is interested in beauty and community. In Rio de Janeiro, it exists in all corners of the city from the favela to richer areas, from residential to commercial. It is bold in scale and has contributed to the flourishing art scene. Now legitimized ,artists are exploring the boundaries of permissible art through an informal pact between the city and the people.
